The Compass every regulated board should be able to read in one page
The Compass Assessment gives your board a clear, defensible picture of AI readiness and the first moves worth making.
What is the Compass Assessment?
Compass Assessment is Navigatr's enterprise AI governance and readiness instrument. Four facilitated workshops score 80+ criteria across data, governance, security, people and value on an APRA-recalibrated 1-to-5 maturity ladder, producing a board-ready pack that tells regulated Australian entities exactly where they sit and what to close first.
Generic maturity scores flatter you.
Most scales hand out a 3 for effort. Ours is recalibrated for regulated entities, so a 3 means developing, and the board knows what that actually means.
Five areas the board is accountable for.
- Data foundations: quality, classification, lineage, retention and lawful basis.
- AI governance and security: policy, control, oversight, incident response and resilience.
- Regulatory and legal: Privacy Act, automated decision-making transparency, sector rules and ACL obligations.
- People and operating model: roles, skills, human-in-the-loop and change.
- Value and assurance: business case discipline, benefit tracking and third-line assurance.
Four workshops, with scores agreed alongside the owners of each area.
We work through the evidence with the owners of each area, so every score has a reason behind it and nobody is surprised by the readout.
The 1 to 5 scale, recalibrated for regulated entities.
1 is ad hoc. 5 is embedded and assured. Each level is defined in plain language so directors can see what moving up one step would take.
